The Town Board wants to take action regarding the proliferation of Airbnb-type rentals separately from changes that could be made during an anticipated overhaul of town land-use regulations. The issue was discussed during a board meeting Tuesday night at which complaints were aired about people apparently buying properties in the town with the sole intent of operating short-term rental businesses. “The owners they are never there,” said town resident Duff Allen. “They are not there.
