The Advertiser – New Orleans proposal looks to cap number of short-term rentals

NEW ORLEANS — In the ever controversial fight over short-term rentals, city leaders are considering putting a limit on the number of homes that can be used as rentals. Although it’s illegal, short-term rental rules are rarely enforced. Airbnb reported currently having a little over 3,000 entire home or apartment rentals available in the city. “We’ve promised people, you will have a residential district, your home is safe and now to allow these basically small hotels, there’s nothing residential about that,” said Councilwoman Susan Guidry….
