Metro News Toronto – Fairbnb coalition calls for Toronto Airbnb regulation

It’s time to look at Airbnb more closely, a wide-ranging alliance is saying. As cities around the world begin to crack down on home sharing sites like Airbnb, a new coalition supported by labour unions, the hotel industry and affordable housing advocates is calling for Toronto to develop regulations around the growing industry. Coalition member Donna Borden is sounding the alarm about entire homes rented out for short-term stays, which she says takes much needed rental units off the market. “We’re just concerned it’s going to take away from what we already have and people won’t have any place to live,” she said….
