After losing a legislative battle last week, Airbnb is going after an upstate Republican senator who voted to make it illegal to advertise short-term apartment rentals in New York City. But the company isn’t highlighting Sen. Sue Serino’s support of that bill in a new mail campaign. Rather, its PAC is using the Hoosick Falls water contamination crisis as a jumping off point to bash the Dutchess County Republican’s environmental record. The mailers angered some Hoosick Falls residents and one state elected official. “Wake up Airbnb,” tweeted Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin, who represents the area. “You screwed up big time.”…
