Right now, there are no city laws authorizing or regulating Thompson’s rental service. His guests don’t pay city sales tax or a hotel-motel tax. That may change, though. Members of the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau are asking city leaders to look into taxing Airbnb sales. The head of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Tracy Kimberlin said Springfield’s short-term rental industry is small but growing quickly….
