More than half of Airbnb’s revenue in the Philadelphia market comes from commercial landlords, according to a report, the proponents of which say the operations are running unregulated, hurting hotels and other small businesses in the process. Supporters of short-term rental services, however, say the report “misrepresents” the marketplace. About 57 percent of Airbnb’s Philadelphia revenue came from 232 operators that listed properties for rent for more than 180 days a year, according to a report conducted by John W. O’Neill, professor of hospitality management and director of the Center for Hospitality Real Estate Strategy at Pennsylvania University….
